Please note in order to be eligible for a grant, you will need to be the (co-)author of an accepted paper at Interspeech 2025.

ISCA and Interspeech 2025 are jointly offering grants to students and early career scientists in order to support their participation in the Interspeech 2025 conference.

Important Registration Information

Grant notifications will be sent after the early bird registration deadline.

• For applicants whose Interspeech attendance is dependent on the travel grant acceptance: please wait with registration. In other words, if you can only attend Interspeech 2025 when the travel grant application is successful, then please wait with registration (but do apply for the travel grant) — in case of successful application, we will send you a special code that still allows you to register for early bird rate.

• For all other applicants, please go ahead and register!

Notifications will be sent on June 30, 2025.

We ask all successful applicants to pay all costs (including the registration fee) in advance. All successful applicants will be reimbursed after the conference (please keep all the receipts). For those who have problems with advancing the costs, please contact ISCA for help.

Furthermore, we advise those who may not be able to travel if they do not receive a travel grant, to carefully check the cancellation terms and conditions of accommodation before booking.

Conditions

The grants for participation in Interspeech 2025 will be administered by ISCA.

The purpose of the grants is to support a diversity of scientific topics and the conference theme, as well as a wide representation of the international speech science and technology community. Applicants from all countries are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants from under-represented segments of our community, both geographically and otherwise.

Application Process

Applicants must complete an online application form.

Applications require the following supporting documents to be uploaded when completing the online application form:

1. A copy of the paper(s), submitted to, and accepted by the conference

2. The letter of acceptance of the paper(s) you will present at the conference

3. Your curriculum vitae including a complete list of publications

4. A recommendation letter (or email) by your supervisor or the Director of your laboratory

The application deadline is midnight CET, Wednesday, June 6, 2025.

The application must be submitted using the online application form. Notification of acceptance or otherwise will be sent to applicants by June 30, 2025.

The deadline for grant applications is strict, and applicants are encouraged to start preparing the required documents early.

Successful applicants will receive a variable grant amount. The variable grant amount will be allotted, as per the following:

• 500 EUR for grantees whose affiliation is from the same continent where Interspeech is being organized (i.e. Europe)

• 1000 EUR for grantees whose affiliation is from other continents (applications from less-represented countries are also considered)

• 2500 EUR for grantees whose affiliation is from less-represented and low-income countries.

The grant of successful applicants will be used to pay their appropriate (early-bird) conference registration fee, the balance will be reimbursed after the conference.

For example, if you are a student and not an ISCA member, the grant may cover early student registration including 1-year ISCA student membership. Any remaining balance will be reimbursed to the student after the conference.
